Chemical engineer turned cosmetic chemist...
For a decade, I worked behind the scenes formulating for some of the skincare industry's biggest names. And the longer I spent in those labs, the more I noticed a pattern I couldn't unsee.
Formulas built around marketing stories rather than skin science. Hero actives surrounded by ingredients dosed at percentages too low to do anything meaningful.
I also watched brands sell five products when one exceptional formula could have done the job better.
As a cosmetic chemist, I found myself in the frustrating position of knowing exactly what skin needed and being unable to find it on a shelf. I didn't want a ten-step routine. I didn't have the time, and frankly, my skin didn't need it.
What I wanted was a single product that was genuinely multi-functional, clinically dosed, and came with real proof. Before and afters from real skin!
So I made it.

The 90s
The Woman Who Taught Me Everything
Growing up, I had a front row seat to one of the most important lessons of my life — and I didn't even know it at the time.
Watching my mum age with grace taught me that ageing is something to embrace, not fear. That confidence is the ultimate glow. And that fine lines tell the story of a life fully lived.
(She also made sure I never left the house without SPF!)
2015
The Chemist is born
I graduated as a chemical engineer and did what made complete sense to someone who loved both science and skincare — I walked straight into the world of cosmetic chemistry!
For the next decade I worked behind the scenes, formulating for some of the industry's biggest names.
Learning what makes a formula truly effective. Understanding ingredients. And quietly noticing a pattern I couldn't unsee.
2023
The hunt for the right product
I relocated from Sydney to Perth and also started experiencing my first signs of ageing as I entered my 30s!
This is when I started experimenting in my home lab with premium ingredients to create something that was backed with science!
I wasn't thinking about launching a brand. I genuinely just wanted a single product that did everything my skin needed without a complicated routine. Something multi-functional, properly dosed, and backed by real results.
Mid 2025
The Leap
Something clicked.
I quit my full time career. I contacted suppliers. I dove headfirst into a world I knew nothing about — business, logistics, branding, e-commerce. Everything that exists on the other side of a lab bench. It was uncomfortable, overwhelming, and at times completely terrifying.
But the formula was real. The results were real. And I knew that if I needed this product, other women did too.
I figured it out as I went. Because that's what you do when you believe in something enough.

After years of frustration, months of formulating, and one very steep learning curve in all things business, Vitani Skin launched with a single product.
